California Family Council (CFC) is honored to stand as a supporting organization for a statewide Day of Repentance, Fasting, and Prayer for California and the United States on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Alongside ministries such as the National Center for Law and Policy, Concerned Women for America, Advocates for Faith and Freedom, Salt and Light Council, Changed Movement, and the Urban Youth Collaborative, CFC is helping call believers across California to humble themselves before God, repent of sin, and intercede for spiritual revival in our state and nation.
This collaborative effort, organized through www.caprayer.com, seeks to unite churches, ministries, and individuals from every region of California in prayer for righteousness, renewal, and restoration.
“Be Humble. Pray. Seek. Turn. Be Forgiven. Be Restored.”
The Day of Repentance, Fasting, and Prayer is anchored in the timeless promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV):
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
This is not a political event or a single large gathering—it is a call for Christ followers everywhere to pray and fast wherever they are: in homes, churches, and communities across the state. Organizers envision millions of Californians lifting their voices together in one accord for repentance and revival.
A Movement of Humility and Unity
The heart behind this initiative is simple yet profound: California is a broken state full of broken people who desperately need God.
From our divided politics to our compromised churches, from the destruction of life to the confusion of gender and family, California is groaning under the weight of sin. This day calls believers to turn from apathy, repent of rebellion, and seek God’s mercy once again.
“All extraordinary movements of God in history have been preceded by extraordinary prayer,” the organizing statement explains. “We desperately need God to move. We need miracles. We need breakthroughs. These are things we cannot manufacture ourselves.”
The website www.caprayer.com provides suggested Prayer Points for individuals and churches to use, covering:
- Praise and Thanksgiving – Worshiping God as Creator and Redeemer.
- Humility, Repentance, and Forgiveness – Confessing both personal and national sin.
- Evangelism and Disciple-Making – Praying for revival and gospel proclamation.
- Family and Church – Restoring marriages, strengthening parents, and purifying Christ’s Bride.
- Government and Leaders – Asking God to raise up righteous officials who govern with integrity and truth.
Jonathan Keller: “Prayer is the foundation for transformation”
Jonathan Keller, President and CEO of California Family Council, offered this statement:
“The last few months have shown us that, more than a political fight or culture war, our world is in a spiritual battle. This call to prayer isn’t about retreating from the world; it’s about reclaiming it for Christ!
At California Family Council, our vision is God’s people living as faithful citizens of both heaven and earth: Biblically faithful, civically responsible, and culturally impactful. By humbly repenting of our sins and seeking God, He changes our hearts and enables us to live out the lordship of Jesus in every sphere of life.
If we truly long for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, then we must pray, fast, and act with hearts set on His glory. That’s how families, cultures, and nations are transformed.”
A Call to California’s Church
Organizers stress that this movement is not about one personality or one organization. Pride and competition have too often divided the Body of Christ—but this effort aims to do the opposite: to unite Christians under one banner—Jesus Christ, the Lord of heaven and earth.
The invitation is open to every church, ministry, and believer to join in this day of repentance and renewal. Whether gathered in living rooms, sanctuaries, or public squares, the call is the same: Humble yourselves, seek God’s face, and pray for our land to be healed.
