Last week, Daily Wire host Matt Walsh posted a twitter thread revealing disturbing findings from Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) transgender clinic in Nashville.
“My team and I have been investigating the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt here in Nashville. Vanderbilt drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors. But it gets worse…” began Walsh.
According to a Daily Wire report, Walsh uncovered video and archived webpages from VUMC detailing a doctor’s promotion of transgender therapies and surgeries, in addition to threats against medical professionals who object to these procedures for religious reasons.
Dr. Shayne Taylor, who convinced Nashville to get involved in the gender transitioning of minors, was apparently motivated by profit, as she called these procedures a “big money maker.” During a Medicine Grand Rounds lecture, she noted that a “chest reconstruction” surgery can generate $40,000 in revenue per patient, and someone “just on routine hormone treatment, who I’m only seeing a few times a year, can bring in several thousand dollars … and actually makes money for the hospital.”
The fact that these surgeries cause irreparable damage to minors is indisputable, and Vanderbilt is sacrificing the health and safety of children for financial gain.
Moreover, Vanderbilt launched a program for minor patients called “Trans Buddy.” These “buddies” are trans activists who attend appointments with the patients, monitor the doctors’ behavior, and police their “pronoun” use. This could easily cause doctors to feel pressured into prescribing “gender affirming” treatments like puberty blockers that will cause the patients far more harm than good.
According to Blaze Media, a new scientific study revealed the devastating, irreversible damage caused by puberty-blocking hormone injections given to minors. In addition to creating essentially sexless patients, and chemically castrating men, puberty blockers are “depleting victims’ bone density; hampering their cognitive development; and producing a myriad of deleterious emotional effects.
Lastly, the medical professionals at Vanderbilt are being denied their religious liberty when it comes to their treatment of children suffering from gender dysphoria. “If you are going to assert conscientious objection, you have to realize that that is problematic,” said Vanderbilt health law expert Ellen Wright Clayton during a lecture. “I just want you to take home that saying that you’re not going to do something because of your conscientious — because of your religious beliefs, is not without consequences, and should not be without consequences,” she continued.
“Gender affirming” treatment has serious moral implications, and no medical professional should be forced to participate in these procedures in any way. In fact, they should be prohibited from participating in it, as it’s completely reckless and unethical to allow vulnerable children to make permanent, life-altering, and medically unnecessary decisions that have proven to cause serious harm.
Unfortunately, Vanderbilt is not the only clinic involved in such child abuse. According to research conducted by The Washington Stand, at least 13 U.S. hospitals perform gender transition surgeries on minors, including the University of California San Francisco Gender Affirming Health Program, the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, the UCLA Gender Health Program’s pediatric practice, and the Gender Clinic at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.
Children desperately need protection from the dangers of gender “affirming” care, and they should be kept away from each of these clinics. Given that Vanderbilt has been exposed for viewing its transgender clinic simply as a moneymaking tool, the clinics here in California deserve further scrutiny.
