California Family Council Condemns Political Violence Targeting Senator Scott Wiener

SACRAMENTO: California Family Council President Jonathan Keller released the following statement condemning political violence after Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) received a threatening email telling him bombs had been placed in his home and office last Sunday.

“California Family Council unequivocally condemns political violence. Threats like those recently reported by Senator Scott Wiener have no place in civil society,” said CFC President Jonathan Keller.

After last month’s leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion suggesting Roe v. Wade might be overturned, there has been a surge in politically-motivated attacks. A new report details 41 houses of worship and pro-life centers suffering “arson, vandalism, property theft, and property destruction.” And just days ago, a California man traveled to Washington, DC, in an attempt to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanagh.

“We urge every American to reject violence and vandalism, whether directed at legislators, judges, or private organizations. No person should be intimidated for debating religious and political disagreements,” Keller said.
