New Chief of Staff Trump Appointee at HHS has Abortion Activists Angry

A new Trump appointee to the Department of Health and Human Services has abortion activist angry due to his involvement in investigating Planned Parenthood for aborting and selling human body parts. March Bell, the new Chief of Staff for the Office of Civil Rights, formerly served as the staff director and chief counsel on the Select Panel on Infant Lives, a U.S. House panel that has been investigating Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of aborted baby body parts.

The Washington Examiner reported that, “Democratic representatives are accusing him of secretly coordinating with David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, while in that role.”

Democratic lawmakers wrote a letter to Alex Azar, the Health and Human Services Secretary urging that Bell recuse himself from any cases involving abortions or the sale of human baby parts. The Democratic lawmakers — Reps. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, Jerrold Nadler of New York, Diana DeGette of Colorado, Jackie Speier of California, Bonnie Watson Coleman of New Jersey, and Suzan DelBene of Washington urged that ““It is clear that Mr. Bell is not an impartial investigator on those topics, and we do not believe he can be trusted to fairly adjudicate any related cases.”

However, Lifenews reports that “each of the letter signers has received campaign donations from the abortion chain Planned Parenthood:”

In 2015, Degette was exposed as one of the biggest Congressional recipients of Planned Parenthood donations. She ranked fifth on the list, having received a total of $41,485 from Planned Parenthood for her election campaigns, LifeNews.com previously reported.

Despite complaints from pro-abortion Democrats about the Center for Medical Progress and Congressional investigation, authorities did find strong evidence of wrong-doing, and investigations continue.

Bell is serving under the head of the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Civil Rights, and former Heritage alum, Roger Severino whom Trump appointed last April.

The vision for the Office for Civil Rights is:

Through enforcement of laws prohibiting discrimination, including discrimination against those who
exercise conscience rights, and protecting the rights of individuals to access their health information and
the privacy and security of this information, OCR helps to ensure equal access to health and human
services, advance the health and well-being of members of communities, protect individuals’ private health information, and provide the tools for provider awareness and full consumer engagement in decisions related to their health care.

Social conservatives can be confident that this pro life, pro family duo will work tirelessly to ensure that human rights are not violated while simultaneously ensuring that religious liberty is protected on all fronts.
