We stand at a critical crossroads.
This fall, California voters face Proposition 50: a constitutional amendment that would suspend our independent citizen redistricting system and install new congressional lines for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. This deliberate attempt to redraw the political map of California has profound implications for every community that refuses to bend the knee to Sacramento’s prevailing ideology.
The Stakes Could Not Be Higher
California created an independent redistricting commission for one essential reason: to stop politicians from rigging the system to entrench their own power. Proposition 50 would dismantle that safeguard for three consecutive election cycles, right when control of Congress hangs in the balance nationally.
Let’s be clear about what’s really at stake: ideological gerrymandering. This is about using district lines as a weapon to silence dissenting voices, particularly the voices of people of faith who hold fast to biblical truth on the sanctity of life, the integrity of marriage, parental rights, and religious liberty.
Pro-life advocates, defenders of religious freedom, and champions of God’s design for the family are already swimming against a powerful cultural tide in California. Prop 50 would allow those who oppose our values to fracture our communities across multiple districts or bury us in populations designed to guarantee we never elect representatives who will even listen to our concerns.
This Is Not Just Politics
Every community, including ours, deserves a meaningful voice in our constitutional republic. But Prop 50 threatens the systematic marginalization of millions of Californians whom the ruling class deems “hateful” due to our biblical convictions.
This is not “Democrats versus Republicans.” This is about whether California will preserve a system where voters choose their representatives or normalize a process where politicians choose their voters and silence the ones they don’t want to hear from. We urge every person to vote NO on Prop 50 because:
- Guardrails Matter. Our constitutionally created citizen commission exists to prevent conflicts of interest in redistricting. Suspending it now doesn’t just undermine public trust: it obliterates it.
- Stability Matters. In an age of unprecedented polarization, rapid, exceptional changes to foundational election rules invite zero-sum power grabs rather than legitimate governance.
- Dignity Matters. Communities of faith deserve more than to be parceled out and packed away to sideline their voices. Our neighbors, our children, and our future deserve better.
The Battle Is Only Beginning
Whether Prop 50 passes or fails, one truth remains: our civic calling has never been more urgent.
Regardless of the outcome, California Family Council will continue our mission: “advancing God’s design for Life, Family, and Liberty through California’s Church, Capitol, and Culture.” We will use every lawful avenue available, including pastoral engagement, public comment, legislative reform, and grassroots mobilization, to protect the voices of believers across this state.
But here’s the reality: We cannot do this alone! CFC is on the front lines, educating voters, exposing threats to religious liberty and family values, and standing in the gap when others retreat. Efforts like Prop 50 reveal just how much the opposition fears an informed, mobilized, faithful electorate. They want us divided. They want us silent. They want us to give up. We refuse! But this work requires resources. It requires courage. It requires you.
Your donation to California Family Council (either online or by mail) directly fuels:
- Voter education campaigns like this one
- Legislative and legal efforts to protect religious freedom and parental rights
- Grassroots mobilization across California’s churches and communities
- Research and analysis that exposes threats to biblical values before they become law
The opposition is well-funded, well-organized, and relentless. They count on our apathy. They count on our silence. They count on us to retreat and leave the field to those who despise what we hold sacred.
We will not give them that victory. That’s why we need you in this fight! The harvest is ripe for those willing to stand with conviction, compassion, and courage. Your generosity has never been more critical.
The Bottom Line
Prop 50 is not about political teams. It’s about whether California will preserve stable, independent rules for representation or normalize mid-decade power grabs that privilege whoever holds the pen.
For the sake of constitutional integrity and the equal dignity of all Californians, including communities of faith, we urge you to vote NO on Prop 50.
