Protest Turns into Celebration as Late-Term Abortion Clinic Cancels Opening

Last Saturday, hundreds of Christians showed up in Beverly Hills to worship, pray, and to protest the opening of Dupont Clinic, the first, at-will, third trimester abortion clinic in California. But the protest turned into a celebration, after event organizers read a recently received email from city officials announcing the late-term abortion clinic was no longer going to open their facility at this location. Dupont Clinic currently runs an abortion facility in Washington, D.C., where they advertise elective abortions on babies through 31 weeks and 6 days for any reason.

The Abortion Clinic first announced the arrival of a new late-term abortion in Beverly Hills in a October 2022 Tweet. We are “thrilled to announce that we are expanding to Los Angeles, California!” Groups such as Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, The White Rose Resistance, and California Family Council immediately sprang into action to bring public awareness and to stop the opening of the first abortion clinic in California specializing in killing babies for any reason in the womb past viability.

Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust began their “Summer of Activism” at Dupont Clinic on July 15th with small prayer events, speaking at city council meetings, and informing the Beverly Hills community about the murder mill that was to open on Wilshire Blvd. in the Fall.

Last Saturday, hundreds of Christians gathered on the steps of Dupont Clinic. California Family Council Outreach Coordinator Sophia Lorey, White Rose Resistance Founder Seth Gruber, Pro-Life Activist AJ Hurley, and other pro-life leaders had planned to pray and speak out against the opening of the Dupont Clinic. But minutes into the event, Tim Clement, Outreach Director for the Survivors of Abortion Holocaust, announced that he received an email the day before from the Deputy City Manager of Beverly Hills indicating the building owner rescinded Dupont Clinic lease. Those gathered broke out into celebration and tears of joy, praising God for the victory!

The protest immediately turned into a prayer and worship celebration. Sophia Lorey led the crowd in prayer and thanksgiving, but warned that the battle for life is still nowhere near over. Just last year, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law 13 abortion bills. As Christians, the Bible is clear. We must have nothing to do with fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather to expose them. We, the Church, are to be the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.
