Joe Biden Confirms He Still Supports Abortion up to Birth

A new survey response from the New York Times shows that Joe Biden’s position on abortion hasn’t changed.

Biden and his campaign have made it clear that he will force Americans to fund Planned Parenthood abortions as well as abortions overseas, using taxpayer money. Biden confirmed in his survey response for the New York Times that he still supports abortions up to birth and at taxpayer expense.

According to the National Review:

There was unanimous support among candidates for “codifying” the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe, though it is unclear how they would do so within the bounds of the Constitution. Every survey respondent expressed support for repealing the Hyde Amendment, a rider that prevents federal funds from directly underwriting abortion procedures. Even Joe Biden — who for decades of his public career supported Hyde as a protection for pro-life Americans with whom he says he personally agrees — has reversed his position, an indication of the party’s dramatic shift on the issue.

“Biden will repeal the Hyde Amendment and use executive action to on his first day in office withdraw the Mexico City ‘global gag rule’ and Donald Trump’s Title X restrictions,” Biden’s campaign told the Times in a statement. But despite his willingness to jettison his lifelong stance and drift along with party dogma, Biden didn’t answer two additional questions in the survey: whether he would sign a budget that included Hyde and whether he would require private insurers to cover abortion.

Again, this isn’t surprising, and California Family Council has repeatedly reported on Biden’s pro-abortion stance.

In July of this year, Joe Biden promised to reinstate the Obamacare Individual Mandate if he is elected President. In July, Biden announced he was withdrawing his support of the Hyde Amendment.

The Hyde Amendment—the appropriations legislation first introduced in 1976 by Rep. Henry Hyde — bars federal funding for elective abortions through Medicaid. The amendment has saved over two million preborn children and celebrated its 40th anniversary on September 30.

Even TIME magazine, when reporting on Biden’s decision to withdraw his support of the Hyde Amendment said, ” For years, the Hyde Amendment represented a rare point of bipartisan consensus on abortion in Congress, with lawmakers from both parties agreeing that taxpayer money should not be used to fund abortions, with some exceptions.”

In a Planned Parenthood Forum that hosted a large number of the prominent Democratic candidates, Biden said, “First thing I would do as your president … I would codify Roe v. Wade as defined by Casey. It should be the law.” Biden also claimed, “Planned Parenthood, you are the ones who are providing for all of the healthcare for poor women in more ways that no one else has been able to do.”
