On Thursday Vice President Mike Pence re-affirmed pro-lifers that President Donald Trump will continue to work tirelessly to defend the rights of preborn children.
While speaking at a special gala celebrating the 40th anniversary of Concerned Women for America, Vice President Pence applauded the efforts by the Trump administration to protect human rights in the womb.
Concerned Women for America is the “the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization” dedicated to protecting and preserving Christian principles in government. The gala at which the Vice President spoke at took place at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
During his remarks at the event, Pence expressed his excitement over the partial defunding of Planned Parenthood and promised that the Trump administration would continue to fight for the rights of the unborn child and work to end abortion during our lifetime. Pence expressed what an honor he considered it to be to cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate to withhold federal funds from Planned Parenthood, also remarking that, “life and liberty are winning in America again.”
“I don’t know if I have had a greater honor than to cast the tie-breaking vote to defund Planned Parenthood,” Pence said, in reference to his March 2017 tie-breaking vote, which passed a resolution overturning a last-minute push by the Obama administration (while Obama was still in office) that forced states to fund Planned Parenthood, rather than choosing which healthcare organizations to support with taxpayer dollars.
“I couldn’t be more proud to serve as vice president for a president who stands without apology for the sanctity of human life,” said Pence. “This president will always stand for the unalienable right to life,” he added.
